Coming out of Sunday’s teaching, “Ephesians: Loved” spend some time in prayerful reflection and dialogue with your Home Church/Friends/Family around any combination of these questions

Read through Ephesians 3:14-21 before starting. Pray and ask God to speak.

1. How do you know that you are loved? When you think of your human relationships, what are ways that indicate people’s love for you?
2. What is the heart of Paul’s prayer for the church in Ephesus?
3. Paul prays that the church would be strengthened in their inner being with power through his Spirit? What do you think that means? (vs. 16)
4. Where do you need strength today? How could the Holy Spirit help you in your weakness?
5. Paul prays that Christ may dwell in our hearts and root us in love. What do you think this image means? What would it look like for the foundation of your life to be God’s love?
6. Paul prays that we would have the power to understand, with everyone in God’s family, the power of his love. What impact would knowing more of God’s love have on your life?
7. Paul says that God has the power to accomplish abundantly far more than we could ever ask or imagine. If that is true, how does it change or affect our prayer lives knowing that we could never ask God for something bigger than he could accomplish?
8. What part of Paul’s prayer do you connect most with today. How can you pray Paul’s words for yourself or for others?

As you conclude, use Paul’s prayer as an example of how to pray for each other.
  • Begin by praising the Father for who he is and how he is bringing people from every corner of the earth into his kingdom through Christ.
  • Pray that God would strengthen you today through the power of his Spirit. Confess where you feel weak and ask him to meet you in those places.
  • Pray that Christ may abide within you as you seek to abide in him. Pray that you would make his love the foundation of your life that roots you and grounds you through the trials and through the times of celebration.
  • Pray that you would be given the power to comprehend more clearly how much God loves you. Pray God’s love brings transformation and new life to you and others.
  • Praise God that he can do more than you could ever ask or imagine. Praise him for his power that raised Christ from the dead and is at work in you.
  • Offer your specific prayer requests to God.
  • Give praise to Christ and give him glory, joining with God’s people from every generation who have worshiped and praised him.
