Coming out of Sunday Oct 4th’s teaching, “UNITED: What To Do When We Disagree About Methodology“, spend some time in prayerful reflection and dialogue with your Home Church/Friends/Family about these questions:
Read through Philippians 2:1-11 before starting. Pray and ask God to speak.
- What were some of your key takeaways from this Sunday’s message? How did God speak to you?
- Can you think of an example from recent memory of when you disagreed with someone about methodology? How did you handle it? Share if appropriate.
- How might focusing on “the why” change the way you think about “the how?” (V2)
- What might “disagreeing without becoming disagreeable” look like for you right now? (V2)
- How can you let go of your need to be ‘right’ or to ‘have your way’ so that you can better “love one another” as God calls you to? (V2)
- What are some personal preferences that God is inviting you to lay down for the sake of others? (V3-4)
-
- How can the Gospel shape the way we approach our disagreements regarding methodology with others (in the church, home, workplace and community)? (V5-11)
