Coming out of Sunday Oct 4th’s teaching, “UNITED: What To Do When We Disagree About Methodology“, spend some time in prayerful reflection and dialogue with your Home Church/Friends/Family about these questions:

Read through Philippians 2:1-11 before starting. Pray and ask God to speak.

  1. What were some of your key takeaways from this Sunday’s message? How did God speak to you?
  2. Can you think of an example from recent memory of when you disagreed with someone about methodology? How did you handle it? Share if appropriate.
  3. How might focusing on “the why” change the way you think about “the how?” (V2)
  4. What might “disagreeing without becoming disagreeable” look like for you right now? (V2)
  5. How can you let go of your need to be ‘right’ or to ‘have your way’ so that you can better “love one another” as God calls you to? (V2)
  6. What are some personal preferences that God is inviting you to lay down for the sake of others? (V3-4)
  7. How can the Gospel shape the way we approach our disagreements regarding methodology with others (in the church, home, workplace and community)? (V5-11)
