Life Hacks: Doing What You’re Told

It’s important to have good doctrine and beliefs about God but even more important that we live them out. James tells us that “Faith without works is dead” (James 2:14-26). But, practically speaking, what does this actually mean? Do our works “save” and make us right with God, or not? And what kind of “works” does God want from us anyway? Listen here, as Jeff explores these very important questions in our study through the book of James.

Dealing with Difficulties

What do you do when trouble comes your way? Do you blame others or get angry with God? Do you try and ‘pray it away’ and to do whatever it takes to make it stop? How are we supposed to respond when life is hard and we experience trials and tribulations?  What does the Bible says our response to trials and difficulties should be? Join us next week for Week 1 of “Life Hacks” as we explore the Book of James together.

GO! Hospitality

Pastor Jeff is back and continues our GO series with a message on hospitality!  Every believer is a missionary whether we feel like it or not. At the same time, we are not all called to be preachers and to ‘convert the masses’. So what does it look like for us to follow Jesus’ example in mission?  What is one thing we can all do to participate in God’ mission in the world?  Listen here to find out!

GO! The “E” Word

Someone once said, “Preach the Gospel at all times, and if necessary use words.” It’s a nice idea… but it’s not in the Bible. The reality is that evangelism (the ‘E’ word!) must include both word and deed, but often we are pretty uncomfortable with the word part. So how can we get better at proclaiming the good news of Jesus with our words? What are some practical things we can do to better at evangelism in our neighbourhoods?  Listen here to find out!

GO! God’s Heart for Our Neighbours

Jesus said that the greatest commandment is that we should God's love with everything we are and that we should love our neighbour as ourselves. But who exactly is our neighbour? And what does it mean to love our neighbour as ourselves?  And how is this commandment related to the mission that God has given His church?  Listen here to find out!

Celebrate! Baptism Service

This morning Jeff taught us that "Religion says DO, but Jesus says DONE".   We celebrated as Hannah, George and Shawn took the next step in their faith journey - they publicly declared their faith, and upon the confession of their faith, were baptized in water!  Click here to watch the video!

Scarred: Finding God When the Hurt Just Won’t Go Away

The reality is that life is hard and that sometimes our hurts and our pains don’t go away. And yet, when you look at the Bible, you read about how we are “more than conquerers” in Christ and that Jesus came to give us “life to the full”. So what do we do when we don’t know what to do and the hurt just won’t go away? How are we to understand life’s hurts & disappointments and continue to press forward in the midst of them all? Watch here as we wrap up our “Scarred” series by talking about this very important issue.

Mental Illness. Emotional distress. Depression. Bi-Polar. Mood disorders. Stress. These are issues that ‘The Church' doesn’t seem to like to talk about all that much, but issues that so many of us face in our daily lives. Find the video here for Part 2 of a very critical conversation on mental health and faith, featuring an interview with Carmen Hust, and expert in the field of mental health!
