Welcome to our new site! I hope you like it. 🙂
I imagine that some may be wondering, “Why the new website & logo?” “What was wrong with our old logo and our old website?” “Why the facelift?”
Good questions… Here are four reasons for the facelift:
- FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE KEY!
I think we all know, from a business perspective, just how important websites are in today’s culture. Rightly or wrongly, people (who we want to reach!) will draw conclusions about our church within seconds of visiting our website. And so it’s really important that we try to keep our website and our look fresh – so that we can, hopefully, make a positive first impression and connect with more and more people. People who God loves!
- SMARTPHONE AND MOBILE DEVICES
People are using their mobile devices to access the web more than ever before. I’ve heard that somewhere around 50% of all website visits come from a mobile device. And so in launching a new website it was critical that it be a mobile friendly site (which our old site was not).
- WE’VE GOT TO STAY FRESH!
Let me say it – there was nothing wrong with our old logo. It was a good logo. However, it was nearly 10 years old and (as it would be with most companies) it was time for a new/fresh look. The reality is that in today’s world, websites and brands and logos are the language most people connect with. And so by freshening up our look and by creating a new logo, we are hoping and praying more and more people will connect with our church community (and more importantly – to Christ himself!).
- WE WANT TO REACH MORE PEOPLE!
At the end of the day, everything that we do as a church must always come back to this one thing – reaching more and more people with the love of Christ. That should drive every decision we make, every dollar we spend, and every dream that we dream as a church. See, it’s not just about having a sexy, new, relevant look. It’s about doing everything we can to reach people with the love of Christ. And we think a new website & logo can help…
Ultimately, let’s remember that brands and logos and websites don’t make up a church. The people do. You and I do. We are the body of Christ – His hands and feet on this earth! Brands, logos, and websites are just tools to help us be the church in our hood. So let’s keep pursuing him and asking him to use us to reach more and more people with the love of Christ!
I really hope you’re excited about everything God has for our church in the days ahead – I sure am!
Peace.
