Imagine a church where every person intentionally invested in five other people. People who far from God and in desperate need of the hope, love & grace that Jesus provides. Neighbors, coworkers, family members… people who God has placed in our lives to reach.
Imagine how we would grow spiritually as we pray for our friends and share the message of Jesus with them. Imagine how God would use us as we step out in faith to love other people with the Gospel. Imagine the life change that we would see in others as we reach out and introduce them to the person of Jesus Christ. Imagine the stories and the baptism celebrations and all the “Jenn Kennedy’s” that we would see… Imagine what God would do!
Well, this past Sunday, we invited everyone who calls The Gathering home to come forward and fill out a “My Five” card. To write down the names of five people in our lives – neighbors, coworkers, friends, family – Our “Jenn Kennedy’s” (who was baptized on Sunday). People who we know need to “Come Back God” (2 Cor 5:20). And we invited everyone to commit to praying for their “My Five” and to invest in them relationally as “Christ’s Ambassadors”. To ask God to reveal himself to them and to use us in the process.
And it was awesome to see so many people come forward to fill out a card.
Now, imagine what God WILL do if we take this seriously. Imagine how many more baptisms we WILL see… how many more changed lives we WILL see… Imagine how many more Jenn Kennedy’s God will send our way… Imagine!
So… who’s in your “My Five?”
