If you missed Sunday April 23rd’s message “True Greatness”, you can give it a listen here.
- How did you experience God on Sunday morning? During the worship (through music)? During the message? During the baptism? Through the community?
- Who do you think of when you think of greatness? Why? What makes them so great?
- Read Mark 9:33-37 and Mark 10:35-45 together.
- What stood out to you as you read these two passages? Why?
- Unpack Jesus’ definition of greatness. What is the difference between our culture’s definition of greatness, and Jesus’ definition?
- Jeff said that “it’s not a sin to want to be great, but it is a sing to want to be KNOWN as great.” What’s the difference between the two?
- To what degree has you bought into our cultures definition of greatness, as opposed to Jesus’ definition?
- Are you the kind of person who steps out and looks to serve in simple and practical ways, or do you look to be served by others?
- Do you serve in order to get something in return, or because you want to be like Christ?
- Read Mark 10:45 again. How can this truth motivate to serve?
