Summer Student Position
Contract Dates: July 2– August 30, 2024
Hours: 30 hours/week: Sundays 8:30 am- 12:30 pm and the remainder of the hours fitting within our office hours of: Tuesday to Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Some Saturday/evenings will be required for special events.
Responsibility 1: Sunday Mornings (4 hours per week): Set up and tear down on Sunday mornings. Co-teach the Kids Ministry program. (St.Fx School, Riverside South)
Responsibility 2: Staff Meeting (2 hours per week): Meet with staff weekly for planning & coaching (Parkway Church, Greely)
Responsibility 3: Office Administration (4hrs per week):
Administrative duties as requested by the staff team:
- Purchasing & receiving supplies for summer events
- Website maintenance/updating
- Database maintenance/updating
- Video creating/editing (Dependent on applicant’s abilities)
Responsibility 4: Children’s Ministry Preparation (2 hours per week):
Kids Ministry lesson planning and execution for the summer; including but not limited to craft preparations, games/activities planned, overseeing kids check in/out
Responsibility 5: Special Events (As Needed)
- VBC assistant: Assist the VBC director with the planning and execution of our 1 week long Vacation Bible School
- Event planning and organization for “Movie in the Park” and potential Canada Day and Church in the Park events
Responsibility 6: Marketing (As Needed):
- Creating and distributing marketing materials digitally and physically
Accountabilities: Agreement with Statement of Faith, Constitution, Privacy Policy, Vision Brochure, and Submission to Leadership of the Church, as well as Staff criteria in our Constitution. Reporting to the lead pastor and/or designated staff for regular mentoring meetings.
Specific Qualifications: Out-going friendly personality, good with kids first and foremost, and then with adults. Organized; Leads children well; Skills in research; Self-motivated worker who can take initiative and work independently; Good computer skills; Able to follow directions; Planning and organizing of events; Able to meet deadlines.
Must be able to travel to Riverside South and Greely as required. Must be within the ages of 15 – 30 and a Canadian Citizen.
Pay: $16.55/hr. (30 hours per week).
