This past Wednesday at Gat Youth we heard a familiar message… that God loves us… just as we are… no matter what! While it is a message that is familiar, it is one that we all tend to forget at times.
Our High School students in particular were invited to write a phrase that we could use to remind ourselves of the way God sees us… I would encourage you as parents to do the same, and consider sharing that statement with your student.
“My God loves me, so I can love me!”
“God defines me. People don’t.”
“I am a loved son/ daughter of God.”
Our Youth Band led us in an amazing time of worship. One song that has resonated with some of us as leaders, as well as with the students is a son called Good Good Father. It has recently been recorded by several different artists. The chorus (below) speaks directly to our identity in God. As leaders, it is our prayer that during these JH and HS years, your students will develop a deep, deep sense of who they are in God. Loved by Him is who they are.
“You’re a good, good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
And I’m loved by You
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am”
