Hi Church Family,
With COVID-19 now in Ottawa and Ontario Health’s recommendation to cancel large group gatherings, we have decided to cancel our church services at St FX High School for at least the next FOUR Sundays (March 15, March 22, March 29 and April 5). With the schools remaining closed for two weeks following the March Break, we would likely not have had access to St. FX High School as a rental option anyway. We will re-evaluate after April 5, in consultation with an Advisory Team consisting of health care professionals from within our church community.
However, even though we can’t be together in person, we will still be live streaming a message on Facebook Live each Sunday starting at 10:30AM at http://www.facebook.com/thegatheringottawa. We would encourage everyone to make sure to tune in to that.
Home Churches are still able to meet during the week at their own discretion, though that may change in the days/weeks ahead as we gather more information.
Finally, I want to remind us that while it’s important to be cautious and prudent in this moment in time, God is still in control. We should do all that we can to protect ourselves and our loved ones (and especially
those who are most vulnerable in our community), but we should not lose sight of the fact that God is still good and He is still trustworthy. He promises to redeem all things for our good, as we continue to trust in Him (Romans 8:28). We do not need to live in fear!

Let’s keep looking to Jesus in this season of uncertainty and continue to look for ways to love our neighbours!
