Talk about your experience on Sunday morning.
- How did God speak to you during worship and/or teaching this week?
- What have you been reflecting on and/or praying about in response to this week’s service?
New Years Resolutions.
- Are you a “New Years Resolutions” type of person?
- Why or why not?
- If yes, what resolutions/goals have you set for 2016?
Jeff shared about our church’s theme for the year +, “Deeply Rooted” based on Colossians 2:6-7. Read & discuss it together.
- What words/phrases/concepts jump out at you as you read this passage?
- Do you think it’s possible to “accept Christ Jesus as your Lord” but then to not follow him? Practically, what does that look like?
- What do you think it means to “continue to follow him” (V6)?
- What do you think it means to be have your “roots grow down into him” and to “built on him” (V7)?
- How is thankfulness connected to spiritual growth (V7)? How might a lack of thankfulness be a sign of spiritual complacency?
- Would you describe yourself as a thankful person? What does this reveal to you about your spiritual condition?
Jeff talked about spiritual maturity and being a “Deeply Rooted” church saying that “who we are becoming today will shape what we end up doing tomorrow.”
- How do you react to this concept/vision for our church family?
- How might your marriage, finances, relationships, and self-esteem be different as you become more “deeply rooted” in him?
- How will our church be different as each of us grow & mature in Christ?
- How does the spiritual growth and maturity (spiritual rootedness) that we experience today have the potential to impact what we do as a church community in the future (think about the people God wants to reach through us!)?
Spend some time in prayer as a Home Church. Ask God to grow and mature us as a church family! That we would be a “Deeply Rooted” church!
