Audio Team

You may not see yourself as being someone to stand up front and teach others. Tinkering with  technology, however, gets you excited. Have you considered joining our Audio/Visual Crew?  Here at the Gathering we believe that technology can really make the message of God relevant and people who have knowledge in this aspect of service are an integral part of our church.

Worship Team

If you play an instrument or love to worship God through song, you may be a fit for our worship team.  We are looking for people that want to partner their gifts in music with their passion for worshiping Jesus Christ in song music.  This volunteer position in the church falls under our genuine relationships with Christ value.  Please contact the church office for more information or to try out for a worship team.

Care Ministry

We are looking for people who want to invest in the lives of people at the church when they need help the most. At some point in everyone’s life, there comes a time where we need a little extra help.  One practical way we try to do this is by offering families occasional meals when they are in need of support.

Greeter

We are looking for people who are fun and enthusiastic about fulfilling our goal at ‘The Gathering’ to build relationships with our community. We want people who desire to make others feel welcome and to help people connect to others on Sundays at our larger celebration services (kids and adults).

Home Church Host

Got the gift of hospitality?  Love to open up your home for get-togethers?  Hosting a small group in your home may be the area of service in the church that you can assist us in.  We are always looking for hosts for our home churches, people who are ready to open up their living room once a week to a group that is focused on taking the message from Sunday further by applying it to their lives.

Home Church Leader

Do you enjoy facilitating discussion about the Bible? Do you have a heart for discipleship? Then leading a home church may be a good fit for you.  We believe that “Spiritual growth happens best in relationships” and try to fulfill that within our Home Church ministry.

Java Team

We are looking for people who are fun and enthusiastic about our goal at ‘The Gathering’ to build relationships with Christ and others. We want our coffee house on Sundays to be more than just a place to get a free coffee; we want it to be a place where people connect with others in meaningful ways and begin to question and think about Sunday’s sermon topic.

Prayer Team

Prayer is a mission critical component of what we do as a church. If we don’t pray, there are things God won’t do in and through us. So, at The Gathering our Prayer Team exists to pray over the entire ministry of our church. Before Sunday services and special events, as well as for individuals in our church who are in need of prayer. Why not join the team today?

Set Up & Tear Down Team

As a portable church, we depend heavily on our volunteers to help set-up and tear-down each and every Sunday. After all, the chairs won’t set themselves up! By being a part of the set-up and tear-down team, you’ll get to flex some muscle and break a bit of a sweat. But more than that, you will be helping to create an environment where people will be able to encounter God in our Sunday morning worship services. How sweet is that? Think about serving in this way… it’s worth it!

Kids Worker

We are looking for people who are fun and enthusiastic about our Kids.  Our Kids Gatherings are at the very heart of our vision for the church. We are looking for 3 different types of people:

1. We are looking for people who have the spiritual gift of helps or service, love kids, and are willing to do whatever it takes on a bi-weekly basis on Sunday mornings to see our vision for kids flourish.

2. We are also looking for people who have the spiritual gift of leadership or teaching and would be willing to lead an illustration or game or do a small teaching.

3. Finally, we are looking for people who can sing along with the kids worship DVDs and make worship exciting for them.

For more information, contact Kristyn Weatherbee.  Additionally, you will be required to fill out these two applications before becoming a volunteer (the Volunteer Application is included in the Plan To Protect Manual, along with other necessary forms):

Youth Ministry Team

We need mature, Christ-centred adults who have a heart for teenagers to help lead our youth ministry. Junior High happens on Sunday nights, and Senior High on Wednesday nights. Why not take the time to build into the next generation?

TheGathering (37 of 107)

Here’s a few simple reasons why you should volunteer at The Gathering:

  • Volunteering is a great way to get connected and to meet other people!
  • People who volunteer in some way, shape or form often end up becoming some of the most relationally connected people in our church.
  • Volunteering is a great way to make a difference for God!
  • If we’re going to reach our city and in our neigbourhoods with the love of Christ, then it’s going to start with us and simple acts of service.
  • Volunteering can be a great way to grow in your own faith!
  • Often times, people grow the most when they sacrifice of their time and their energy to serve others in the love of Christ. (It makes sense – after all, serving others is a form of worship!)
  • The church needs you!
  • Like every family, there are certain ‘chores’ that need to be done. Volunteering is a way to chip in and to be a part of the family of God called “The Gathering.”

Ultimately, we believe that the church isn’t being the church unless every person plays a part. 1 Corinthians 12 talks about how the body of Christ (the Church) needs every ‘body part’ (every person) to participate and to play a role in the life of the church in order to be effective.
